MEMORY LANE IS NOW A SUPER HIGHWAY

For vacation this year, and now living in Florida, we decided to go and visit friends and family throughout the state.

Winter Park Art Festival, long one of my favorite things to do...emerging artists, etc.
It began with local artists and now has quite moved on.....
It was a fun, first day...also because I found a wonderful little pair of walking shoes...OTZ
They have a cork bottom and are sooooo comfortable.  I bought two pair, orange and, of course, black!!

Speaking of shoes...Day two of our vaca. Laura, Michael, Henry and I went to the Art Festival.  Finally found a person who has wilder running shoes than Henry.
Conveniently, Michael was able to take Henry to the place that he bought them and they were able to fit Henry in this pair of wonderful shoes.  Wanted to make sure you got a really good look!!
Then we went to visit some wonderful shops where I found these heads...and a trumpet.

Next we moved on to Safety Harbor to visit my friend, Andrea.
and then a fabulous trip to the Chihuily museum in St. Pete

Followed by a dinner at Columbia Restaurant...num-o.  One of my all-time favorite places to eat!!

We decided to go to Clearwater Beach location--not thinking it was St. Patrick's Day, as well as Spring Break.  Do not even ask how long it took to get there.  If you heard a little murmuring in your ear that night it was probably Henry.

No trip would be complete without a visit to Ted Peters even Guy Fieri says so.

...for me this year, it lost a little of its luster.  I was sick for two days after eating there.  When you go to the rest room and it has a broken slat and they repair it by nailing up the bottom of a box it may have gone too far.

We continued the walk down memory lane with a visit to Longboat Key, and St. Armands Key, home of the very first needlepoint canvas Henry ever got me.  Then on to the seashell capital of the world...Sanibel.  It is remarkable to note that the same people are doing the same things all day long.  The only difference is that we have replaced our parents in the old person role.  Everyone looking for shells in all the wrong places.

for the record...I did go to the beach and I did wear my new shoes...
If you are driving through Florida there is one thing that is essential..a trip to WAFFLE HOUSE  the place where time stands still.

Then back home to gather the dog and cat:  Denny Crane and Tony Scalia, and head back home.

...and yes, I did knit at the beach.
